The information in this unit I found interesting is about how the regulation functions and manipulate people to belief and action. The information that I have learnt from the particular topic in the reading is about how the writer explain the ways language is organized. In the context in language, the way we speak and write indicates he social circumstances of both speaker or writer and listener or reader. In other meaning, language is a part of, as well because of social process happen. Other than that, language also allows us to manage our behavior as well as influencing or controlling that of others. If a writer know how a people in a particular social group use the language then the writer can use that language to control them. Here we will know the power relationship of the language with social group. Rules and the way that they are written enable those who frame them to control those to whom they are directed. By writing rules, the rule writer is claiming the knowledge and authority to command obedience of these rules. If the writer and reader agree on their role relationship, then the writer establishes dominance over the reader. This is a power relationship same like I was stated above. In this relationship, the writer or speaker of the rules is a commander and the reader or listeners are commanded. A suggestion was claim, which is a close examination of the language used in any piece of writing will reveal clues as to the power relationship between the writer and the reader. Some of the concept is hard to understand. Like the differences between rules and regulation itself. This is because base on the dictionary both words are combine for example, rules and regulations. But in the presentation all presenter was define each meaning of the words successfully.
